5 Reasons Why Video is Crucial
Marketing your business with a video is now more important than ever as your customers and clients are seeing more videos as part of their daily social media activity. With the proliferation of web platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn where video is now easy to upload on to, and new platforms such as Tiktok becoming hugely popular, it’s a no brainer.
Whether you are introducing a range of products or services, unveiling a new offering, or describing a specific business process, here’s 5 reasons why you should be considering video as part of your marketing strategy.
1. Your audience are already watching
People watch an average of 16 hours of online video per week and they are twice as likely to share video content with their friends than any other type of content. That’s a lot of video, and it gets better! In Wyzowl’s recent survey
50% of social media users prefer to watch a video to find out how to do something.
84% of people say that they’ve been convinced to buy a product or service by watching a brand’s video.
And 86% of people would like to see more video from brands in 2020.
2. Your competition is already using video
A video increases levels of engagement with your customers far more than traditional advertising does. If you haven’t considered video as part of your marketing because it is too expensive, or you don’t feel its needed, now, more than ever, is the time to consider it.
85% of businesses use video as a marketing tool. That’s an increase of 24% since 2016.
64% of online buyers decided to purchase after watching a video on social media.
96% of people have watched an explainer video to learn more about a product or service.
74% of people say they’ve been convinced to buy or download a piece of software or app by watching a video.
3. The professional marketeers are already sold on the idea
In 2015, only a third of marketeers said video was a good ROI; in 2020, its now 88%! The overwhelming majority of video marketers credit video with achieving important goals, and most importantly, almost all marketeers feel they get a return on the investment they make in video. For example:
87% of video marketers say video has increased traffic to their website.
95% of video marketers say video has helped increase user understanding of their product or service.
80% of video marketers say video has directly helped increase sales.
83% of video marketers say video has helped them generate leads.
4. So what sort of video should you be making?
Whilst it’s impossible to generalise as every product or service is different, and there are always exceptions to the rule, when asked how they’d most like to learn about a product or service, two-thirds of people (66%) said they’d prefer to watch a short video. But what type of video is the most effective and where?
95% of consumers believe that a video should be less than 2 minutes long.
15 and 30-seconds ads videos are viewed to the end in 84% and 90% of cases accordingly.
YouTube is main social channel for video with 88% of marketeers using it, followed by Facebook at 76% and LinkedIn at 66%.
80% of customers start deciding on purchase from watching YouTube videos about the product.
The most commonly created types of video are explainer videos (72%)
5. So where does a voice over fit into all this?
If you’ve got as far as deciding you’d like to have a video made and perhaps have approached a video production company, the next question to consider is whether you should use a voice artist.
If you are considering having a voice over for your video, its important you use a professional. And here’s the final stats that may convince you:
A study by research analytics company Quantified Impressions showed that the quality of a voiceover was twice as influential as the message itself. They can make better connections with your product or brand, which can help drive sales and conversion rates.
87% of Gen Z and 72% of Millennials prefer watching videos on their phone with the sound on so you need a voice artist who can be authentic.
If 95% of consumers believe a video should be less then two minutes, a professional voice artist will deliver your message that communicates to your audience on every level.
